Overall fair reflection of the first half. Barnsley should have been one goal at least to the good missing a chance from a corner and firing twice down the keepers throat when well placed. As the first half progressed oxford warmed up a little and capitalised on a number of unforced errors and stray passes in midfield which ultimately lead to the first goal, break into the box caused the barnsley defender to dive in and concede a penalty which was duely despatched. This gave Oxford some confidence and they started to dominate the game missing a one on one, a couple of free headers from corners and a few digs from distance. Barnsley did have chances to break but the number seven who has been dire put his attempted lob about four feet over. Obstructed by the post for the equaliser, came from a break by barnsley in midfield close to the box, barnsley player got fouled. Played on, keeper saved the initial effort. Rebound was stuck in by barnsleys number six. Reds best player.
