Not sure whether the Hall of Fame is due to be extended or whether it's just been forgotten about. I'd have already had two managers in Danny Wilson and Johnny Steele in there but they appear to have been left out. However, wouldn't it be ironic and a slap in the face for the board if the fans voted Daniel Stendel as the first manager to join the existing 6. https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/club/oakwell-hall-of-fame/inductees/
"To be considered for induction, individuals must be either retired or, in exceptional cases where a playing career is still ongoing, be at least 30 years of age. All inductees must also have played/managed for at least five years in England." Seems they've scuppered that option
I suppose he fits the retired player criteria but they've got him on the 5 year qualification period. Shame that, I would have voted for him.
Me too. Wonder if that's still the same criteria as originally posted? Wasn't HoF around this time of year last year? Can't recall precisely but had a feeling it was Autumn pre Christmas. Could be totally wrong, but surprised its been pretty quiet on that front.
Been extremely quiet since GG left. Not heard anything at all from this Dane chap. It was a good idea at the time but I suspect it's taken a back seat because of what's gone on this past 18 months. I thought the idea was to have these 6 inductees and then add to them each season. Plenty of nominees out there with the likes of Harry Tufnell, Ernest Hine, George Uttley, Tommy Taylor, Eric Winstanley, Mick McCarthy and Daniel Stendel lol.
