Translation from a story from today's Fréttablaðið in Iceland: Hallfredsson facing uncertainity Reggina midfielder Emil Hallfredsson is adament that he will stay on British shores when his loan deal with Barnsley comes to an end at the end of the season. Hallfredsson prefers to stay at Barnsley but having been signed by a manager that has since left the club it is uncertain his wish will be granted. It seems that new boss Mark Robins is having doubts wether Hallfredsson fits his style of play and the club could activate a clause which enables it to terminate the loan deal in january. Should Hallfredsson leave Barnsley in january his wish to practise football in Britain should not collapse as Hearts in Scotland along with several english championship clubs have been in contact with Reggina over the 1 million pound rated the player's availability. ---- This paper, Fréttablaðið, does not have any player's quote, or an agent quote, or a quote from Barnsley or Reggina so I would bet my life this is papertalk.
no, mate, He's well liked here, by fans and manager. He took a knock and was out for a couple of games. But when he is available, he's in the team. best regards, mate, I hopes your superannuation is safe and don't talk to a man called Nudger about Haddock.
Well that's definetely not true I remember when Robins was announced as BFC manager on the Wednesday, he mentioned that Emil Hallfredsson was the only squad member he hadn't met yet as he was away on International duty. I didn't see Hallfredsson playing the following game at Watford on Saturday, with Robins not knowing him yet or what he brings to the team - he played the full 90 minutes; that says to me that straight away Robins threw him straight in at the deep end thinking this lad's got some ability. He played the following Tuesday at Derby and was outstanding, created 2 goals for Hammill and A.Gray and his whole round play was tremendous; great with running with the ball, strong in tackle and could strike a ball well. He would have played the full 90 their probably but got taken off injured. He's just come back from injury and came off the bench against Ipswich and changed the game for us, great skill to set Hume up where he earnt a penalty. He looks to be definetely in Robins' plans and if i was him i'd start him at Doncaster on Saturday. Fantastic player, hope he signs permanently at the end of the season. (clap) (clap)
I can't believe that is true He is 1st team when fit, and looks Championship quality to me. Can't think that Robins wouldn't be interested in him. Left footed too, so adds balance. On loan for a season though so no rush.
Think Robins will be making a big mistake if he lets Hallfredsson go, much better than any other midfielder we have. Good skill, hard worker & seems to be able to dominate games when he is playing. Should try to sign him & build midfield around him.
would love to see him ans anderson get a run together, mouthwatering, would give em the million now, get him signed now, he wants to stay so lets get the deal done, if we dont some other team will take him without a doubt, cant see Robins allowing him to slip through the net.
balance gives us balance, great going forward, puts his foot in when needed, covers the pitch with ease n i wunt argue wi em looks a reight mean git, just wot we want
Hope not, brilliant player If he plays like he did against Derby, and when he came on against Ipswich, every week, £1million will be steal
Not true going by what was said last night He's happy with the way he's adapted after initially thinking he'd struggle after watching him play at Watford. Thinks he's a great player and infered he'd be wanting to keep him.
