Apparently news is spreading that my favorite player, Emil Hallfredsson, is headed to England. The Icelandic winger is apparently joining Barnsley, a team in the Championship. This is my nightmare turned into reality…

This is like a bad episode of the twilight zone for me. I literally wake up every day, check the transfer news and hold my breath just hoping that Halfredo is still a Reggina player. I get excited when I see him starting in the friendlies and when I think of the prospects of him playing regularly in Serie B i feel like a giddy school boy in the thralls of his first crush….

But now it’s all over… when this news becomes official I will wear my Hallfredsson jersey, pantsless, eating a pint of ice cream as tears roll down my face into the bowl of ice cream. After I devour my tears, I will grow stronger and somehow get the courage to move on.

There is one thing that can ease this pain… it would be the signing of Danish defender Magnus Troest from Genoa. I need another Scandinavian player fill the void. But nothing will equal Halfredo. If he only got to play more.. I mean Orlandi hardly plays him and he scores a wonderstrike against Juventus. His passing skills, ball skills, determination, toughness, etc. etc. etc. will all be missed.

Let me just say though it will only be a loan.. but with a right to redeem him. Who wouldn’t want to redeem him though? No chance he comes back. Our midfield just got a lot worse. I use to be brimming with confidence about the upcoming season and now I have NO confidence. I’m going to go get in the fetal position now as the grief sets in.

That is straight out of the Adam Hincliffe diary

I reckon "i feel like a giddy school boy in the thralls of his first crush" in Italian translates to "best **** ever" in Tarnspeak.

I'm sure I saw Adam H doing a spot of DJ-ing at local bars in the Reggina area earlier in this summer - might be him!

It seems the manager hasn't played him all the time then

Maybe that's why they're willing for him to leave and he's happy to go.

I did wonder why they'd loan him out.

Hope we've a permanent deal agreed IF he does well so no-one else can nip in.
