Simon seems happy with O'Niel Thompson too. and judging from the opinions on here so far, so are many who saw him today. They are looking over him till thursday, lets hope that mens they are discussing terms to announce him as a reds player till thursday.Okay he has played 1 game and trained little with us, but as someone on here said Jamaica is not the worst team out there ...far from it.We need a player of his type to be able to cover center back and defensive midfielder. AND he will not cost a lot as I see it.Hamill would be a marvellous addition and also Gray. I am now feeling a lot more hopeful as the season approaches.Especially after a good result today against the team from 'Millionaires Row' it just remains to say that this has been one of the more promising pre-season run ups for ages.Hope it heralds a much more enjoyable season for us all.
Hope so. At one point Hammill was spoken about on a season long loan so to sign him would be great news.
Great news that we are close to getting him. Put him in that team today in place of Disco and we look a strong side. Add Gray, Thompson permanently and another, and we are looking good to go. We can always add in January, or on loan, if we need to.
Whilst singings, particularly good ones are welcome, I think the big difference this season could well be the emergence of players from within the squad. Oddjob was a different player today. Butterfield showed potential, Boggy - well he is carrying off where he finished last year, Hassel has looked good in the two home friendlies, Kozluk seems to have up his game a little and still pulls of those last ditch interventions. Moore - extremely underated, has faults but I am glad we have him. We have also have players to look forward to - Hume playing anything like will be like a new signing. Then there is the promise of some very youngsters that have played well and with enthusiasm. I have no doubt that Davey, as well as us ,is somewhat dissapointed about the lack of new players coming in. However, I feel that what we have got the potential to do a lot better than last season. Get the three to four players in that Davey has hinted at in the last week, plus the potential to cover deficient areas by loan signings. Cant help but feel somewhat optimistic for the season coming. We looked very good against what is quiet likely to to be a top 4-5 in premier league. Out opposition in the Championship is not likely to be as good. If we can continue the confidence and commitment surely we will do better than last season. Very hopeful. Wouldnt a win next Saturday and the following Saturday be so nice!
