    Mawson was terrible

So was pearson even though he scored

Says it all when a player who hasn't played all season shows the rest of the squad of to play attacking football

But neither as bad as Smith, at fault for the goal, giving it away easily and by my counts approx giving it away / wasting ball every third touch.

He could hardly walk in the second half and still was our best

Yep....a half fit Adam Hammill is streets ahead of anything else we have. Without him on the field tonight I'm pretty sure we'd have lost that game. We were very lightweight in midfield and dodgy at the back as usual. Be interesting how we fare on Saturday, particularly without Scowen. Think we need yet another loan... :)

Disagree it was all Smith's fault. Mawson (I think) started that poor passage of play by playing a poor ball over to Smith which put him under pressure, Smith lost it and then Wabara put in a completely needless tackle to concede the free kick. None of them covered themselves in glory tbf.

He was tired in the first half and knackered by the hour.

But he kept at it. Something made him persist when he had nothing left. I was waiting for his number to go up.

If he's as determined as that when he's miles away from being fit, he'll be a reight player. Does he want to play? Yep. Has he still got a fcukload of ability? Yep. He ticked every box apart from fitness, and that'll come.

Pearson was great. One of our most consistent performers. One of the loan players what actually gives a **** and wants to wear the shirt

He's been good majority of the season

But I thought tonight he was poor

Smith is the most negative player I've seen for Yonks

But we won so who gives a ****

I like Smith, he's OK for his age but I wish he just would stop and turning back and the
Adding back to Nyatanga. Show us what you have.

Smith does that because he's a poor player and can't do anything else I don't get why people can't see that.

Yes Smith was poor and I am worried he is playing exactly the same as Tom Kennedy. Needs to break the style quickly, learn how to cross and get beyond the half way line more often. He had one or two spells second half run ragged. I hope he develops through it but having no competition or LB mentor isn't helping him.

but he would never have been put in that position if chuffin mawson hadnt played the ball backwards into defence instead of through the middle or down the channels!!!!

Yes he could have cleared it but he made a pass to Smith who made a mess of possession. Mawson very poor today as was Smith. We give the ball away far too much in our own half.

Mawson seems to reading a "How to be Jim McNulty" handbook.

Wabbara Smith and Pearson have developed either talent or confidence bypasses.

    Isgrove's finishing school was bombed.

Newcastle Toney threatened at first but is not an obvious hitman.

Hourihane Jackson and Nyatanga were bang average.

    Hammill was the difference.

How many more are there like him, out on the naughty step, looking for a club? We need one who drives through midfield, and then we've got every chance of turning this round.

    Otherwise.............

We've needed a left back for the last 2 years since (Scott Golbourne 2013 to Wolves)

Nyatanga - Poor at left back.
Smith - Very raw, likes to play backwards too much and needs to be more positive but he will hopefully learn.

This is the one position for me where we need to create more competition, bring in some experience!!!

If we're going to ex-reds I'd love to see Carl Dickinson back.
