"We can't be overawed next year" "We are going to relish this challenge in the championship" "We're not going to fear no one " Doesn't sound like someone who's planning on leaving to me
The way he applauded the fans at the end and kept beating his badge... it didnt feel like a goodbye to me. If he were to move on... I'd still think of him as a legend that had such a huge impact on our season. But you know what... I think Adam Hammill knows he's a red, and he's in a place he can be loved, adored, and he can make his mark on the championship with a place he feels at home.
I think he'd almost certainly accept a lower contract offer to continue playing for us but I think that would be the in the hundreds of pounds lower, not thousands. Said in a couple of his interviews that he's got a young kid and another one on the way and needs to think about their future - probably only got 3-4 years of earning some top money in him so if another club is going to double what we can offer him in the Championship you can't really blame him if he goes.
Loved the bit at the end of the interview where he thanked the fans - players often say "it's for the fans" but rarely do they thank us, pure class.
I'd be gutted if he went, he's idolised here but I can't see him leaving. Everything he's said lately suggests he wants to play for us in the championship
