the play offs were never on anyway if we're being realistic. are we really a one man team though, who is to say we wont win any games during hammill's absence.
Really poor challenge, could have really done some damage to Rose. Boyeson was card happy all night, so didn't need the help. To be fair to the lad he's been good for us since he's returned so we can accept one let down. He will be disapointed for himself too. Nobody could defend him, our players didn't bother complaining.
I think you'll find that we lost 8 games in a row without him so he'll be a big miss. Was it 1-0, 1-0 after the 6-goal mauling he played in?
wow im honoured that the great hemsworth has replied to me. the stats might prove your argument, but do you think we really are a one man team and that we cant do anything without hammill ?
No sports team are a one man team. Someone will step up. It's hard for others in the team at the moment because everything goes down that side of the pitch. Scowen got injured. Took a little while but we've done okay without him. It's a reason I don't worry about selling a certain player.
there are the odd examples though, look at Argentina now with messi and also look at them in 1986 with maradonna. as far as i can remember they are one of the biggest examples of being a one-man-team. as much as i admire adam hammill for what hes done for us, im not dismissing our team now because of his three game absence.
Leaving hamill's challenge out of it, the ref was itching for a red card all night long. He didn't let anything go all night and couldn't keep the whistle out of his mouth. He gave free kick for loads of blatant dives by Bury too, which seemed to be a tactic. Other than that, I personally think Flicker did a job on us, or we let him....shepherd the wingers into the corner flag every time and prevent the cross with four men. It was crying out for some runs through the middle or some quick switches across field... Anyway, it's an away point I suppose....
I think his worst decision (and there were many) was ignoring the world's most blatant backpass early in the game. The defender literally chipped the ball into the Bury keepers's hands.
Hammill apologised on his Instagram account, saying he was trying to reach for the ball, timed it wrong, says he will come back stronger and fitter #youreds
