Looks like hes guna Huddersfield. Amazing what having 8 million quid in bank means you can suddenly do.........
An unproven striker at Championship level and above, l'd have snapped their hands off at £5 million yer mind £8 million. Could turn out to be another Jon Stead, great business by Dean Hoyle. I may retweet the tweet Mark Stokes sent me when l commented about how well Huddersfield were run and we could learn off them, he said "yeah brilliantly they've posted a loss of a few million last season" l commented on the asset of Rhodes and off the field they were up in revenue and turnover by 30% they were throwing money at wages to try and get into the Championship thats why they reported a loss. They're now in the Championship averaging 15,000 and have wiped last years deficit out in an afternoon. We'll still hammer at well though, we always do.
Here you go, 7 out of the last 10 at Oakwell we've scored 3 or more against them. Used to love playing em http://www.footymad.net/head_to_head/barnsley/vs/huddersfield_town/index.shtml
'Mark Stokes' ffs You can do it all with a good Facebook page. His response shows in microcosm all that's wrong at Oakwell - small time, small minded, insular, scared of outside ideas that will show them up for what they are.
Re: 'Mark Stokes' ffs You dunt miss owt. Social media/marketing has its place. But you need something behind it.
That's a cracking strategy if you've got someone underwriting those losses - unfortunately we don't. Agree we could learn from 'em though. Peterborough should be the one we take a strong look at, though. Made millions from good management these last few years.
Hoyles arse was nipping though, he was banking on promotion a lot sooner, wouldn't have carried on pouring the money into the salarys the way he was doing for much longer without a promotion. Agree with Peterboro, we're learning a bit though, new videoboard, young uns on longer contracts. ££££££
Re: Jermaine Beckford expected to join Huddersfield today sadly we're not in the position to take the risk it seems. I.e in December we offered Butterfield £15k per week to keep him with a view to achieving say £2.5m, he then gets crocked by Michael Brown the week later..we end up paying him another £1m until we sell him. It cuts both ways I guess.
Re: Jermaine Beckford expected to join Huddersfield today Best thing ever for us, Huddersfield coming up. No problem. Bet Dean Hoyle has a fans meeting and gives em all a free bottle of beer. Progressive.
