I got a new hamster and we are trying to find out what food we can coax it on to my hand with....
Can they have nuts???

 

Yes

Though salted nuts probably not a good idea

Also - try giving it some nuts still in the shell - used to have a hamster when I was a kid, often gave it a haxelnut in the shell and then watch it getting at the nut!

 

Have you got any veg in the house? Carrot, cucumber, lettuce, cabbage should work.

 

I once gave cabbage to one of my rats and they slept in it and nibbled it if they woke up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

how about finding what breed he is? do you know a good site for that?????????????
