    how in one breathe he's telling Ritchie to ring Middlesborough and get a player in and then the other he says he doesn't interfere?

    I thought GS said to AR that Bates from middlesbrough is available and willing to sign, if you want him just make the call

    AR didn't want, so didn't make the call, hardly the chairman telling the manager who to sign, only offering an option

    Nowt wrong with him passing the info on to the manager is there?  Not really interfering, just helpful.
