What is the actual criteria for being a 'Happy Clapper' ?

Personally i support the club through thick and thin. I have celebrated the good times when they have come along and therefore believe its my duty to get behind the club and team and the manager at the time they need it the most. I also clap a lot.

I assume this means i have a big tick at the side of my 'Happy Clapper' status !

I also realise, however, that not everything is rosy at the oakwell table, and changes, whatever they may be, are needed if the club is to move forward again in a positive manner. I appreciate that numpties like thereev believe that people who like to support the club and clap a lot aren't capable of realising these things, so i fear my 'Happy Clapper' status is somewhat tarnished.

I want to be a 'Happy Clapper' but feel i am at a crossroads.

    Please help.

    Happy clapper and proud.

Looks a bit silly when yer complaining (wanting manager, board and cleaning lady) out of the club, but as soon as a date at Wembley is on the cards then ya first one at box office.

Well done Lee, long may it continue.

Sorry based on your CV happy clapper status revoked, any true happy clapper revels in all that is good but when they get to bits that aren't working shut their eyes stick their fingers in their ears shouting lalalalala until they have got past that bit

Yes that's an Happy Clapper. Opposed to Unhappy Flapper, I.e. Those who moan at everything and find reasons to moan at something even when we win and play well. The latter getting it to a fine art and have even now a collection of 1 or 2 moans they can copy paste daily.

The term Happy Clapper was first used to describe those who went to a Church where singing and clapping was encouraged. Pentecostals?

It was used wrongly on this site because some posters assumed that those of us who backed LJ 100% were happy with everything. We weren't, and we certainly weren't 'happy clapping.'

Backing the manager like I do doesn't mean I support every decision he makes or that I'm happy with poor results.

And of course if something makes us happy during a match we all clap - perhaps we are ALL happy clappers at heart.
