    Spent time with Harry on a number of occasions over the years and he was my kind of bloke - just himself. No persona, no on and off switch, just genuinely himself. And I can't speak highly enough of that trait, particularly in the modern world where being fake or trying to copy others seems en vogue.

    A "proper" broadcaster of the old school and, as others have said, genuine with it. Compare him to some of the modern generation of news people and I know who I would rather listen to. It was a sad day when he left the BBC a couple of years ago and his sudden death today has come as a shock. No doubt there will be a full tribute to him on Look North tomorrow.

    Typical Yorkshireman too. Used to come in my mobile phone shop in the early 2000s and continually complain he had to top his phone up £10 at a time because that was the minimum and he only wanted to do a fiver.

    Poor Amy was in absolute bits. Such sad news. Worked with Harry a few times at various Olympics - he used to be our judo commentator. Smashing bloke. RIP.....
