I work there when not at uni, and it is terrible! Sometimes people who want to swim have to wait 2 hours to come in up at reception. It warm and conditions are awful. With the increase in people has come an increase in litter (sometimes used nappys on the pool side, lovely) and an increase in incidents including first aids and accidents. Not to mention that the majority of people coming in now are little Chavs just wanting to cause trouble. Once they have been kicked out, they can simply go back up to reception and get another band and come back in, so the terror never stops. In answer to your question, the simple answer is, Yes it is packed, and No, it is not a pleasent experience. If what you are wanting is a nice lane swim, i would suggest using one of the other sites - ie, Royston and Dearneside
I've had a similar experience..... ...I'm wary of using a sports centre that requires security patrols in the changing rooms. I commend them for trying to ease theconcerns of users, but it speaks volumes about the people who 'use' the facilities or more accurately hang around in the facilities. I won't be taking my 6 year old daughter there again.
thank fook for private pools. This quality of the piss, I hear, is much better. On a serious note however I pay £400 per annum for the use of facilities seven days per week from 6am until 10 pm. These include, the gym, pool, jacuzzie(sp), steam room, and sauna.
No fun being an unpaid babysitter driving them round on the buses weekends and school holidays. Watch the rates shoot up next year to pay for it plus a few redundancies.
