A DVD/BlueRay from America? Got This Is The End for Xmas, gone to put it on today and it wouldn't play. Came up with a message saying "Mismatch in region codes."

Does anybody know how to bypass region code settings?

You'll probably be able to get a region code hack. Key it through your remote, Bob's your uncle

Classic. Region 1 USA, region 2 Europe. When you upgrade, it's worth getting a multi-region player. The Big Star film is only available on region 1, so I may be forced to upgrade for that alone. I've never heard of hacking to change the system, I thought it was a hardware variant.

It's purely software I think and popping in a code will usually switch your player to a different region. Was quite common 10 years ago (possibly?) when you could get dvds from america for a fraction of the cost of the uk version

I tried to "hack" my UK DVD player to play DVDs from USA/Rest of World, but it wasn't one that could be hacked apparently.

Bought a multi-region DVD player off internet for about £45, works perfectly with DVDs from USA, Australia etc.

Try hacking your model (google it) and if you can then great, if you can't buy a multi-region player.

Right. I never noticed the option on my player. My mac has a region change but a limit on how many times. I have a rare copy of Looks and Smiles which I got from Germany, I just assumed it would be reg.2 but it's 1. You can try uploading a disc to your computer if it will allow, then burn a non region copy.
