And if so, doeseverything run smoothly?
Do they just convert the price you pay in dollars back into £ ?

I've done it the other way - ordered from Amazon.co.uk and delivered to USA Very straightforward. Used Credit card and it was converted. The shipping might be a bit more but never had any issues. Use amazon.com all the time and also never had any bother
I though they didn't ship outside the States I bought a camera and a Nomad MP3 player about 5 years ago, had to have them delivered to a mate's parents in the States and he brought them back when he went to see them. Could have changed since then like.
RE: Cheers No problem using them. They bill the credit card in dollars, it's the credit card company that convert it. You'll see the shipping costs as well when you order so you can see the full amount before you commit to the order, and at $8 for the CD it will still be well under £15 in total. I've also ordered a few things from amazon.ca (Canada) - check it out as they are often even cheaper as their dollar is weaker than the US dollar. Only thing to watch out for is import tax but that's only on items over about £30 in value - I had to pay that on a DVD box set but it still was cheap anyway (and the item wasn't available in the UK)

Many times* and never a problem * I define many as more than 10. As in I've been married for many years
Yes, but be careful about duty. I've ordered a number of DVD's and was caught once, when the total was about £30. Had to pay duty on that. Apart from that, no problems.
Bought a tribe of pigmies, an anaconda, a rather imposing large chested lady and two mud huts no problem at all
