Has anyone been watching that Robson Green fishing programme?

His accent has fluctuated between Geordie, American and South African the last two weeks. He might be a killing machine with the rod, but he's evidently weak of character if he loses his accent that easily. Still reasonable viewing though.

Is that a sign of weak character? I hope not because every time I go up to Scotland I find myself aping them a bit. I can't help it. I turn into Billy Connolly. Then again, when I was at uni in Lancashurr I was often asked if I was Scottish. Maybe the Barnsley accent is quite similar anyway.

Surely folk with strong accents in the first place have them because they readily picked up on the people around them when growing up. It's natural to click onto an accent. We're all parrots.

Steve McClarens dutch accent is definitely outside this reasoning though.

According to Crystal, my accent becomes broader the further away we travel. I can't say I've ever noticed any change, but she insist it's true.

 

He was completely stoned when he was on the squid fishing boat though! Quite amusing when he totally freaked out and wanted off the boat, would be interesting to see the rest of the footage. He's trying to be like Steve Irwin though and be totally over the top and matey matey with everyone, unfortunately he comes over as really false and you wither want to hit him of cringe.
