I'm thinking of going there this afternoon (by coincidence, and because the one in Cawthorne is a bit far away).

I wouldn't narrow it down so much

Has anyone ever been to Chapel Brampton?

    No

But I've been to the one in Putney if that helps?

No, but go round the corner to Brampton Holt

    It's on Brampton Lane.

Was looking for somewhere I could eat in the afternoon. Unfortunately that seems to mean "somewhere I could eat crap, overpriced food", judging from the reviews of the Chef & Brewer place. Think I'll just have to snack until the decent places open.

The Brampton Holt isn't too bad and the beer and food are good.

There is always the Hotel next door, Sedgebrook Hall. Bar food is surprisingly good, although a bit dear. Nice place, although I have to say that as it's where I got married!

Have a look at the Holt website http://www.thebramptonhalt.co.uk/

Yeah, I'd had a look at that. Looks nice. Looks much better than the Spencer Arms, anyway! Thanks.
