When I lived in London, I once came with the official Wimbledon fans coach/minibus with some mates who were all Womble fans and had to go in the away end.

    Many years ago ...

When you could still swap ends at half time? does that count...

I've cheered them on from the home end at Watford and QPR if that is any good

    Lol..i just remember those days..

I've done the home ends at Southampton, Crystal Palace (best mate a Palace fan) and Milwall.

Actually, I didn't cheer at Milwall, just kept very, very quiet, and generously applauded when Milwall scored!

    Last time I did it

We were at home to Wimbledon on the final day of the 1977-78 season . Ally Millar scored 2 goals ( one from the penalty spot ) in a 3-2 win .

once stood on the kop end at bumhole lane. Stevie Cooper launched head high kick at gannon straight from the kick off. Stood with my hands in my pockets and biting my lip for 90 minutes. I think we won if my memory isn't playing tricks on me.

Once stood on the home kop at West Ham, cira 1991. We were visiting rels in Milton Keynes and I decided at the last minute to go to the game - which was all ticket.

We went 2 up, and I had to stand very still (very very very still !!).

Then we went on to lose 3-2, and I was pushed, terrace like, all over the place when the third went in, and I had to pretend I was happy when inside I felt like ****.

Then I had to find where I'd left the car in one of the seedier side streets of East Ham.

All in all, I wish I'd stayed in Milton Keynes.

been in home end at Sunderland twice

and both times won 3-2. Blinding! Them and Brum play off are my fave away games. Oh, and Bromsgrove (for very diff reasons)

was in Burnley home end season we went down an all...3-3 draw. We're bl**dy brilliant when I'm in the wrong end.

I remember that game well. I was in the away end and it was the first game I'd taken my gf to. That gf is now my wife, but she has refused to attend any more games. That's the only game she's ever been too!!!!

    That WAS a funny game

I went with Dove Inn branch. In pub, 15 mins before game, nowhere near ground, I seemed only one fancying going. Got there late, legged it up street, and due to my youtrhful legs and lack of beer gut musta been the only one to see us go ahead (Saville?) as we had to leg it 300m up a street.

West Ham went f***ing mental that day. 1st time I heard "WE ARE TOP OF THE LGE" chant, as appy ammers bounced off the cage next to us. 2 goals in last 5 mins, b**tards.

    Sickening.

The 2 thing that struck me that day were

    1. the fact that you walked through East ham to the ground, a very poor area of East London populated by approx 70% non whites, and reached the ground to find the National Front selling their dirty rag outside. I was amazed that they did not get lynched.

    2. It was the first game involving Barnsley I had ever been to that had ticket touts outside. As I was lined up for watching in the home end as I did not have a ticket for our end, I naturally asked the quesiton as to how much for seat tickets, here I thought it would be more civilised. The answer - £50 each, for a second division match 15 years ago. I told him to politely to go forth and multiply.

Didnt have much of a problem

QPR twice lost one 1-0 and the other was embarrasing, when Gudgjon experimented with his 5-5-0 formation and we got hammered

We lost at Watford as well

RE: The 2 thing that struck me that day were

Spent many a game on the Fulwell End at Roker Park, Sunderland! All my work mates have always been Sunderland fans so I used to go with them. Most Boring game ever I think it was Milk Cup or something like that! Worst game I have ever experienced and then had to endure extra time! I think both teams scored in the last few minutes! If you think its bad having to stay quiet during a game then think what its like during a penalty shoot out!! Sunderland won I think it was 4:3!! Worst football experience was also at Roker Park. I think it was Boxing day when it was still possible for away supporters just to pay on the turnstile. Sunderland had alocated a space, standing of course, for an expected 500 Barnsley fans but well over 1000 turned up and were allowed into this tiny space!!! We were eventually allowed to overflow into the empty buffer zone with just a thin blue line between us and the Sunderland fans!

RE: The 2 thing that struck me that day were

I remember the opposite thing happening when we played Sunderland at Roker around Christmas time and only about 300 turned up. It was bloody cold, with a wind off the north sea that cut straight through to your bones. We were on the big section of the open end and had enough room for each of us to stretch our arms out wide.

Someone tried to get a chant going, and the result was that the Sunderland fans took the piss, chanting "barnsley cha cha cha" in a tinny piss take voice. Funny, but not funny, if you know what I mean.

I've been in the away end when it was open topped (1996?) for a home game against someone... Oldham.. not sure. They moved away fans into the West Stand and allowed us in the kop. Does that count?

I've been in home end at Huddersfield in 1996-7 too. We drew 0-0.

    I have, many times

I've been in the home end away and the away end at home. It was in my mental youth.

Many years ago I lived in deedar land and went to the Zenith Cup (or whatever it was called in 1990) tie at Hillsborough. I stood on the Kop and watched in amazement as we forced a draw and took the tie to penalties.

The washday fans around me were getting quite nasty so I decided that no matter what I would laugh at every penalty (being ironic like).

The final laugh was a true belly laugh, very little irony, it was lovely walking out of the ground with all the pigs saying "This cup doesn't matter" and "I 'ate dem Barnsley fans. der like Rovram fans arn't dey?"

    Ah happy days.....

    vs Hull City

around 86, 87, my Hull supporting family took me, i stood with them and watched them beat us 4-1, same year i believe that we beat em 4-3 at their place with Ian Chandler scoring a hat-trick before disappearing
