Seen a 40gb mp3 player I want, but only UK ones are £225 used or "refurbished" (God knows what that might mean) - but .com is $250 (£175) for brand new.
It's a dealer in the States (Amazon says I pay through them and they guarantee delivery).
Anyone done it this way - is it OK and is there owt I should be aware of?
Cheers in advance.

Should be OK ............ Bought a couple of books in the past from the US Amazon and received all OK but there are a couple of considerations : 1. You MAY get a surcharge from UK Customs & Excise (like an import tax) that you have to pay on delivery. I stress MAY because you might get away with it and how much it is depends on what value they specify the item is on the postage docs that customs check. 2. Beware the warranty of a US product - should you have a problem with it in this country it may not be as comprehensive as it was designed for 'US' use.
Yep Not had a problem using amazon.com (or amazon.ca - canada) however for anything over about £30 you will probably have to pay import duty on it...only thing I've had that on was a DVD boxset bought for $28, still was cheaper than it would have been here though
RE: Why not use the one near the Arndale Centre? Was after a specific thing. Not impressed by that shop, plus fed up of negotiating 14 year old with triple pushchairs on Market St
RE: I like the blind busker , he is a Genius! I love his dog, I reckon I could nick it without any problems.
I have bought books from them (American Trail Books) without any trouble. However, there is no import duty on books. There might be trouble with electrical goods, in which case they may chose not to supply you, or you may have to pay import duty.
