I was out with Martin this evening and forgot to ask He was too busy telling me about the appalling taxi driver who almost drove them into a ditch on holiday.
And a cautionary tale to go with it!!! Took the initial MoT failure document showing a number of points (back brake showing insufficient effort, back parking brake also, "rough" wheel bearing, seat problem and an advisory of a worn suspension bush) to a tyre/brake/exhaust chain as I thought they could do it in a few hours right then. I gave them the failure document, said that I had a spare seatbelt stem and would sort that myself and asked for a quote for the work! I got a list of things "needing" done which "and I'm doing you a deal here, mate" came to £1200! My ghast couldn't have been more flabbered!! I said I'd consider scrapping it and took it home. Booked into another garage and had to wait 5 days to get the work done. Bill £107.94, MoT passed!!
RE: Mint sweets, I believe. When I was little we used to blow up glass Coke bottles by putting gravel in them, but I can't quite remember the intricacies!
