The club have been involved in many transfers from foreign clubs

over the last couple of years without serious hitches. This suggests to me that it's the Argentine Fa who are the problem.

What do you think Davey has done wrong in this deal and if anything how could he have foreseen it ?

He almost certainky is guilt free on this one

I doubt he is personally handling the transfer though
I assume he identified a player who he believed was availlable - hardly his fault the Argies are causing problems.

I am wondering if there is something not right about the deal though as FIFA have gone quiet too

I'm not blaming him or anything

And I'm not suggesting he should have seen this particular problem. But this problem is just one of many that can blight the signing of a foreign player. There's work permits and international clearance, whether the player can settle in a foreign country and a new town, if the player is actually good enough for the league for which he has been signed and if he can adapt to the English style of play or the physicality of our game. It's not as though Colace has set the South American leagues on fire. He was a promising junior but he's done next to nothing in senior football. In my opinion we should have bought a solid dependable British player with experience of Championship football for such a vital position in the team. If we can't afford such a player then don't tell us we have significant funds available for transfers.

    Agree entirely

... if we have 'significant funds' are these for shopping at Netto or Marks and Spencer.

    Bang on

Which is why our policy of signing foreign players is fundamentally flawed. Its not like we can house em in a 12 bed mansion with pool like Prem clubs will do with their foreigners to keep em sweet

    They get Ardsley house...

    RE: Why not?

He blames everybody else for everything else that goes wrong. He has to take the blame for something.

He blamed them for individual mistakes, which have happened, and cost us points

When does he accept and admit his own shortcomings in public?
