Yes, and its not just this season I suspect he wont play until October/November. Even worse, the nature of the injury actually puts his career at risk, he may never be the same player again.
RE: Yes, and its not just this season I can't believe it!!!
Just when we get a player , he is knackered.

Relative was the mascot on Saturday and his dad said that when they were getting shown around the North Stand, SD was just getting the news. Got broke to the players and quite a few down hearted about it.
From the Official site: SHOCKING INJURY FOR ANDERSON!!! Posted on: Mon 03 Mar 2008 BARSNLEY Football Club manager Simon Davey is reeling after hearing that influential midfielder Anderson de Silva will be sidelined for up to seven months after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament. Anderson, a six-figure transfer window buy from Everton, picked up the injury during an innocuous collision at Norwich City earlier this month. An initial consultation had suggested that the 25-year-old had only suffered a tear to his lateral meniscus however a subsequent MRI scan has revealed the Brazilian had suffered a further shocking injury that looks set to rule him out until the start of next season. Speaking to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk, a shocked Simon Davey said: "Unfortunately we have had the news late this week that Anderson has ruptured his cruciate ligament and will be out for a minimum of six months. Our thoughts are with him at the moment but the entire club is distraught. "He has not had his operation yet and is with his family. We are thinking of him and I am sure that everybody will wish him a speedy recovery. "We had a clinical assessment done and then followed that up at the back end of the week with an MRI scan which has shown that Anderson has ruptured his cruciate. He is distraught, we as a club are distraught and it is a massive blow to us after chasing him all season. "We will support him as best we can through a long rehab programme". Reds physio Richard Kay told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "We cannot really say too much about what happens next at the moment. We are waiting to get the results back from the MRI scan and I should have those to look through early next week. "We will send the scans through to a consultant who will have a further look and he will advise us on the best possible course of action. We will know more next week when we get the scans but it does not sound good".
To lose both Muller and De Silva to serious knee injuries is just unbelieveable. whatever luck we've had in the Cup is counter balanced and more by those two getting injured. De Silva is the most concerning, as a midfield player, if there's any adverse affect on his mobility, he'll not he the same Im afraid. lets hope he makes a full recovery. devastating blow.
