A few years ago, when Sven took over as England coach, I remember reading that he was the only manager to win the league title in 3 different countries (i.e. Italy, Portugal & Sweden). Does anyone know if this was true. And now that Mourinho has won the title with Inter does that make him the 2nd manager to achieve this (ie. Italy, Portugal & England). In comparison could it be argued that Mourinho's achievement is better than Sven's because his title in England out-flanks Sven's title in Sweden? And also Mourinho won the CL whereas Sven hasn't. Could it be argued that Mourinho is now the best manager in history? This depends on whether you believe it is harder to move countries and win in another league, rather than stay in the same league and win loads of titles in one country..... accumulating titles in one country is still difficult isn't it...
Bobby Robson's done well Major honours in four countries England, Spain, Holland and Portugal. Taken a national team to a World Cup semi and quarter final. Took Newcastle to the European Cup - that's an achievement in itself!
Update on Sven.... the achievement was more specific.... he was the only manager to win a League-Cup double in 3 different countries.
