From the Window closed post on the official site..

"Football League clubs do, however, have a special dispensation that allows a limited number of emergency loans until the turn of the year."

Whats the definition of an emergency loan?

Does we have only 2 Centre halves and one is injured/suspended count

what about we have only 6 strikers and only one of them is any good?

Anyone know what the rule really is?

    Deadlne rules from BBC

    # Premiership and SPL clubs have until midnight on Thursday 31 August to sign players. English Football League clubs have the same deadline for full transfers, but not for loans. English Conference clubs are not bound by the transfer window system.

    # After midnight on 31 August, Premiership and SPL clubs cannot sign any players, on loan or full transfers, until one minute past midnight on 1 January. This window will stay open until midnight on 31 January.

    # Clubs in the Football League can sign players on loan outside of the transfer windows.

    # Outside of the transfer windows, any club may still sign players on an emergency basis with the permission of their competition's governing body, ie the Premier League.

    # Players who are out of contract and do not have a club, can be signed at any time.

Shortage is the one thing classed as an emergency. For example we wouldn't be allowed to bring in a striker on loan because we have enough to have three strike forces. We will not be aloud to bring in a goalie because we have three of them. Defence i am not sure but i reckon we will struggle to be aloud a loan in every position.

This is worrying: From todays Star:

Clubs will be able to sign players on loan again soon after the usual "cooling-off" week which follows the closure of the full-transfer window.

which means we go into the Stoke game and probably Tuesday night at Burnley with what we've got. hmmmm....

You never know, we might just have a couple of loan deals lined up but are waiting for the "end-of-sale" rush to die down. But then again, probably not!(tumbleweed)

    no no no......its just meaning..

that it tends to go quiet a week or so after the frenzy when all clubs are strengthening( BARNSLEY EXCEPTED OF COURSE) loans can be made right now if wanted.

I seem to remember from last year, that loans couldnt be made in the week after the deadline. Not that it matters because we havent got a game in the next week.
