Be nice if they came out and said something along the lines of:-
"We listened to the fans and decided to try and make them happy"
    or
"We always intended to get these 3 players back full time, we just tried to hedge our bets until the last possible minute to get the best deal possible"
    or
"Patrick discovered he had another bank account that he'd forgot about and said 'Lads here's a big f*ck off wedge - go out and spend as much as you can' so we did.

    or some other nice spin.

Davey has just said on radio that Derby and Everton dismissed offers for Nyatanga and De Silva respectively at the beginning of the transfer window. He said that he arrived at work yesterday to find telephone messages from the respective clubs offering to resurrect the deals.

So we could have got them for far less than it's been mentioned. Everton and Derby offering them to us, when all the world were against us bringing these players back. Still great business though. :)

Youve got to admire the board for
    a. recognising that Ritchie was just not good enough for the Championship
and b. recognising that Davey actually is good enough.
