If not, any ideas how long it will be before it arrives?

Not yet, usually 6 months after DVD release I think, about a year after cinema release

    Do yourself a favour.

If you haven't seen it, don't bother. To describe it as 'terrible' doesn't do terrible justice.

'Horror' by numbers. Seen worse, but not by much.

Agree it was rather formulaic (is that a word?) but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Is the original Japanese version better - cause from what I've seen of Japanese horror films they all seem to follow the same basic formula as well.

In fact horror films in general now - it's rare that I come across anything original and truely scary. Always on the lookout for a decent horror film (well not always as sometimes I'm doing other things like working and eating cheese! - ever tried working cheese?)

Pretty much, although the Japanesed versions tend to have some 'feel' to them. As soon as Hollywood get hold of them, they up the budget, drag in a star name and tamper with the plot a little to make it more palatable to a Western audience, and in doing so lose the mythology that made it good in the first place.

Not looking forward to the 'Dark Water' remake. And don't get me started on 'The Ring'.

Ah well I liked The Ring and preferred the remake to the Japanese version!

I fancy seeing Dark Water if only cause it'll probably have a decent soundtrack as its directed by Rob Zombie

agreed - wasted 2 hours of mi life watching it

Its like a film that goes all out to be scary but in doing so goes beyond all bounds of being anything like real and it just bores you!
