German club Hannover close to sign Peru soccer star Miguel Mostto



Soccer chiefs from German club Hanover will arrive in Peruvian capital Lima on Wednesday to meet with Peru club Cienciano and sign a contract for Miguel Mostto, the club's top goal scorer of 2006, Cienciano president Juvenal Silva told media on Monday.

"After seeing videos of Mostto and examining his play and his goals, the bosses were very impressed by the player. They will come to Lima to take care of the final details of the contract, and let's hope they will sign him," Silva said.

He said that negotiations had started a little while ago, and had already taken what he described as "a major step" towards agreement, adding that the club expects to turn a 500,000 U.S. dollar profit on the deal.

He added that if the deal did not work out, Mostto would be welcome to stay at Cienciano, a club based in the city of Cusco.
