BOBBY HASSLE

BOBBY HASSELL wishes Barnsley were NOT in the FA Cup semi-finals.
The defender feels Sunday's Wembley clash with Cardiff is the reason behind his side's plummet into the Championship relegation battle.
Barnsley have lost three games in a row and are a point above the drop zone.
Hassell said: "To be honest, I wish we hadn't made the semi-final.
"It has taken attention off the league, not just for the players but the town. It has not been a help to us and none of us are looking forward to it at the moment."

    great motivator is simon davey

i'm a little lost as to why us getting to the FA cup semi final caused us to only win one away game this season though.

Thats got to be an April Fool surely!

Either that or Bobby Hassell is a fool!

Get him out, and Toggers in if he feels like that. We want players in the team who have belief we can achieve both a Semi Final victory AND survival in the league. That is not too much to ask.

Looks like Davey has a job on his hands. Wonder if our players have got the bottle? What will our excuse be if we go out on Sunday and STILL go down?

Bobby.... you should have kept your mouth shut you dork.

i think it would´nt have made any difference if we were in the FA-Cup Semi Final. There have been some league matches after the quarter, and i don´t think it´nt because of the FA-cup we play like crap

There will be 20,000 Barnsley fans that don't evan know or care about our league position on Sunday

So Hassell's comments are about right he wants to be a championship player next season what's wrong with that.

I think Hassle is spot on and shows he cares about the longer term future of the club and not just some one off Wembley semi final for the glory seekers. As regards commitment I cannot think of any other player who always gives 100% like BH.

Then again, it could of course be 'mind games' to make Cardiff think Barnsley will lie down and die.

    nothing wrong with that but

when he says none of them are looking forward to it that is out of order even if it's true, which I don't believe for a minute it is. That undermines us and will give inspiration to Cardiff.

Most of it is fair enough

But I just don't believe the last bit.

"none of us are looking forward to it at the moment.”

Just not true. Either Bobby's winding the paper up or they've misquoted summat. Every single player will be nervous as hell about Sunday, but looking forward (as they should be) to stepping out at Wembley**

Surely he didn't say that. I would be pissed off if he had cause a lot of people have paid a lot of money for this game and if the players are not up for it they may as well not turn up.

The FA-Cup is just one match at a time, and there is many league matches between those, so it should not be difficult to consentrate on the league. But now it looks like they only manage to think about the FA-cup
