Appoint a nobody as manager then expect a load of nobodies in the team and cross your fingers tightly that they make the step up!:nails: And before somebody says it, wilson was an established, known player afore he took over as player/manager but he had the nous to look at a smattering of experienced, seen it/done it type players to hold the team together. Even his second spell, whilst massively underwhelming, had green shoots of promise before he got the boot. now it seems we have an iPad tactician at the helm who likes one up front, god help us! Not good enough by half Barnsley FC.
You will be Hung Drawn and Quartered for making such statements by the " Club can do no Wrong " brigade. Our transfer dealings speak volumes.
Re: oooooooh the posse will be out for you fella dunt care, say what i see so far! the recruitment has been shocking to say the least, especially when we're supposedly a 'bigger club' in this league now, lololol!
its one of the reasons i don't post much anymore, the pro-all things cryne/mansford brigade that seem to be in the majority on here these days seem unable to even see they're hand in front of they're faces let alone whats happening to the team I've grown up loving thats slowly dying on its arse. I live by the reasoning that when the teams performing they will get the praise but when they're a shambles they'll get my criticism. At the end of the day its still an entertainment business, the cup game with Everton aside, entertainment has been in short supply for quite some time now.
So I take it then that unless you are entertained every single match that you attend it's not worth bothering with them then? I'm not one of the "pro-all things cryne/mansford brigade" that you mention, whoever they are. I'm just a fan with realistic expectations of the club that I have been following since 1962. It's all ups and downs following a club like Barnsley. I expect that, and am never disappointed.

Not been many ups the last five years or so though has there? where did i say i want us to win every single game? i can't recall saying that, i said i like to be entertained, don't you??? You have your views and i have mine, lets leave it there shall we. This is exactly what I'm talking about, lol.
Please post more Hykehamtyke because the point you are making is the Goddam Truth. Mediocrity appears to be fine with some on here.
I've been following the club since 1973 and I consider my expectations to be realistic. I don't expect to be entertained every single game by any stretch of the imagination and the downs will always far outweigh the ups following Barnsley FC. I know that and am used to it. I am however, growing more and more disillusioned with the running of our club. I am sick to death of all the loan signings and every new manager that comes in making all the right noises and then nothing changing. The fact that we have got to the last day of the window and have only one permanent striker on our books is completely bonkers however you look at it. The paucity of our striking options compared with other clubs in our league is embarrassing......
I don't mind the quality of the signings we've made at all - if you look at the permanent players we've brought in they all look good enough. Being careful and only signing sure-fire players on permanent deals makes some sense - we'll be wasting less money than we have done at any point over the last ten years. I even understand the loans to an extent - think of it as a try before you buy situation. The problem is we are definitely short by 2 or 3 players. We need a striker, and a goalscoring winger would be great. I think we could live without a left back but I have to say I got excited by the mention of Carl Dickinson yesterday. 2 experienced signings in key positions would transform us into promotion contenders, so I'm worried that we're not signing anybody
