what worries me is he's only talking about bringing 4 or 5 in, we need to at the very least bring in the same number as left, as last season we struggled towards the end due to our squad not being big enough to cope with injuries

Would Not trust Davey To spend the money wisely

I think the arrogant tosspot needs a more experienced mentor to help with players being brought in. I am still appaled and astounded as to why he has not been given more greif for wasting money on Christienson, and Mosttos Transfer fees and Johnsons wages.

Utter tosh

He's had far more success stories than failures - certainly a better record than some of our other managers in recent years. Every manger has a couple of mistakes, but most of Davey's have been down to trying to work on the cheap - only haveing a few hundred thousand to bring in a couple of Championship quality strikers - almost impossible.

Davet will NEVER acheive play offs or promotion with Barnsley, its not that i dont want the club to do well, the fact is with Davey he will never acheive it with BFC, i hope he proves me wrong but i doubt he will

How you can compare what Bassett has acheived with what Davey will Never acheive in football management is beyond me..

If you want to compare their acchievments though you'd have to take into accoun that Bassett inherited a significantly better squad than Davey and had far more cash to throw around. The reason we ended up in administration is 50% his and 50% Spackmans shocking singings

In terms of who I'd rather give transfer funds to ... Davey every time. disagree with comments on Bassett. Now if you had said Spaceman I would totally agree. Think Basset was one of the best managers we have had.

Frankly that would be a ridiculous comparison

Given that Bassets squad was worth about 10 times that of Daveys

Hignett - sold for a couple of million

Sheron - bought for £1.2 mill

Dyer - bought for £1.2 mill

Shipperly - bought for £700K

Hristov - bought for £1.5 mill

Even the loan players like Curtis, you can guarantee we'd never be able to afford to give Davey enough money to pay the wages of a Man U reserve player on loan for the season these days

I thought Bassett did a good job, but a large proportion of his signings were woeful ... and that's what we are talking about, the quality of signings made.
