After today..........I would say about 40%..........maybe as many as 60%

There were guys wanting to get involved today that I never thought would be anywhere near

Beer tent at the bottom of Market Hill seemed to be the centre of attention today

Spoke to a few shoppers who said there had been some trouble with Barnsley fans wading into the Hull fans in the tent..........with all accounts a Hull fan ran out of the tent waving a piece of scaffold about..............and then they said when that had calmed down some older Barnsley fans some with with grey hair and moustaches piled into the Hull fans in the beer tent

"Beer Tent" in the town centre, but SY Plod stopped a later KO, Sky coverage, and ticket sales beyond 11am today.

But let opposing fans mix in a beer tent.

    Did this actually happen?

Always been about 1 or 2 % at most. Games like today will always bring the nutters out. But they are a tiny fraction of fans who turn up week in week out. They just get noticed more, you think there were over ten thousand Barnsley fans there today.can't be more than a few hundred looking for trouble.

There were more walking away from the ground and heading towards Hull fans.........than there were walking towards the ground

Some of these I've known for years and didnt think they would get involved

Plus..........if there is only 1 or 2 % of Barnsley fans willing to get involved.............how come there were hundreds of police on the streets and not a street corner with at least two coppers stood on it

It's mainly the younger ones, those sort of 18 and below, who are the wannabe hooligans - you've got to remember these people grew up through a period of popular films which revolved around hooliganism so there will be a few who think that is what going to football is all about.

That's not quite technically correct. The Internet as we know it is based on an evolution of ARPANET, which was first built in 1969 (I know WWW and http dates to the 1990s, but the basis of a network using TCP/IP is working on 50 years old now).

So if we have 10,000 turning up regularly, you reckon we have 6,000 football hooligans inside Oakwell?

It's is beyond belief that the police designated it an all-ticket game and refused permission for a 5:20 televised game yet allowed a beer tent in the Continental Market. I was surprised when I saw it on Friday when I went to the market.
