    Well when we played Bordeaux it was expected to be a new thing, playing new teams from abroad instead of same old. That idea lasted one season.

    I'll probably get accused of sticking up for the club again, but didn't they then say the following season how difficult it was to secure a friendly against a big club as the majority want quite a substantial fee for playing in said games now. We had one last season with Everton which was probably part of the Holgate deal.

    The likelihood is that we'll probably end up playing Hull if they stay up, or either Wednesday or Huddersfield of they go up. That is as big as we'll get I'm afraid. The club shouldn't be held to ransom over a friendly match.

    I agree and when Feyenoord was cancelled on police advice it was the right decision if the police bill was going to put us out of pocket because trouble could have happened with those coming over. It doesn't have to be massive clubs. When they went to Hibs for it to be postponed waterlogged pitch that was different. You're probably right with your picks as we tend to play the same old regularly.

    Would really like a Celtic or Rangers friendly at Oakwell but I appreciate a lot of others on here would probably hate the idea!

    I'd be surprised if we didn't have Hull at home if they stay up, maybe Huddersfield if they go up... the usual type of game.

    I'd love a trip to Bootham Crescent before they eventually move out to a Meccano set stadium near Monks Cross soon. Imagine a summers day/evening in York! I'd also take Grimsby away for a day in Cleethorpes... always a laugh... often for the wrong reasons. Lincoln would be a a decent one, perhaps Stockport or Macclesfield too. They're only practice games and we have much bigger issues to worry about than pre-season opponents but a bit of variety never hurts!
