Have any of those 'issues to be raised with the club' been answered?

Yesterday, within minutes of information being published on here, the club responded with a statement on the official site:

"FOLLOWING the publication of factually incorrect and deceiving information on the internet, Barnsley Football Club can confirm that as of 2.35pm on Monday September 19, 2005, the Oakwell Box Office has sold 305 tickets for our forthcoming match at Rotherham United."

It's good to see the club responding with the correct information, although I'd have to question the tone of the piece and ask why they felt the need to be so aggressive.

I guess someone at the club is monitoring this board? If so then good, I'm glad they're keeping up with the feelings of a section of Barnsley supporters. However, if they can respond to information they feel is wrong, why haven't they responded to the numerous questions that have been raised and catalogued in the 'issues to be raised with the club' section?

I'm sure the employees at Oakwell are very busy, with responsibilities far more pressing than the thoughts expressed on an Internet forum, but if a statement can be issued so readily when the content on this BBS concerns the club, why can't questions be answered that concern the fans? The statement yesterday was issued within 20 minutes; the questions on this forum have been up for weeks. Maybe the content of this forum is unimportant to the club, which is fine, but why then react so strongly to something they don't like? Why read it at all? Maybe the content of this forum is very important to the club, which would explain why they reacted so promptly and forcefully to erroneous information published on here yesterday, so why don’t they answer question posed by the loyal Barnsley fans that use the forum? If the club are monitoring this forum, why exactly are they doing it?

    You'd be surprised.

It seems certain people at the club (no names needed), take this forum far too seriously. I suggest they lighten up a bit. I'll say one thing about the John Dennis regime, at least JD and co. had the professionalism to rise above agressive attacks on a shoddy internet forum.

I apologise. I didn't mean it that way. I think you get my drift though.

They cant win can they, if they dont answer they dont care and if they do respond it is unproffesional. Make your mind up!!

Err...why have a go at me. Jay opened the thread, and I suggest you read it. Yes they can win - by answering ALL questions. They are very selective in monitoring this board, and in putting out statements like they did yesterday, are treating us like naughty children. The many, many difficult questions posed by members of this board have simply been ignored.

maybe its the selective answering thats the problem

they answer the easy questions but anything questioning there operations is ignored or you are called a trouble maker

In my opinion, they should not reply.

This board should be independent of the football club.

The club don't care anyway. If they did, we'd have had better-quality replica shirts, more tempting offers on season tickets, an official website worthy of the name etc. etc.

Why should they answer all the questions?

They have more important things to do.

im not sure if you understand how customer relations work

when your customers want answers you give them some.

what you dont do is selectively answer some and refuse to acknowledge others. i could give examples of when i know for a fact a club employee has been on here and answered one question but, althought having seen both, has ignored the second one despite it being a question directly relating to his or her department. professional? not in my eyes.

I agree, there should be no dialogue at all - either way. John Dennis had at least that right.

How can they answer ALL questions, as you mentioned in a previous post, if there is no dialogue at all?

The dialogue is clearly one way. This BBS is monitored very, very closely I understand. Why should it be is my, and many other simple question.

I'm totally lost on this one, Gary. You said earlier on that the club should answer ALL questions, but now you're saying there shouldn't be any dialogue at all. They can't win on that one.
