Have the club released any info on how many early passes we sold?

Ben said over 400 (may have said around 430) up on this time last year before the match on Sunday.

When he spoke to the fans in Redfearn's Bar on Sunday morning, Ben Mansford said we'd sold 423 more 'early bird' tickets by close of business on Thursday than last season. As yet, I've not seen this information published anywhere by the club, but I assume this will be due to no one working on the Bank Holiday.

Ben Mansford's programme notes said we'd sold a comparative amount compared to last season.

We usually oversell or undersell our passes thats if we don't just give it to the opponents.

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised at what Ben said. After numerous comments on here and other sites of an unwillingness to purchase passes for next season, I expected to hear of a substantial drop off.

Changes every year with those that's passed away against under 12`s having to pay and more seeing the value in Season Tickets even if they miss one or two games. Those free child tickets have certainly been one of the better incentives to come out of Oakwell.

That's true. But over and above standard changes, there was quite a number of folk claiming they wouldn't pay for another season pass if Wilson remained manager. Once he was sacked, there were a others claiming they wouldn't renew with Johnson at the helm. Others still threw in the towel with what they saw as a lack of progress from the club, yet more stating they'd had enough as they no longer enjoyed the football on display.

After all the moaning and claiming to be done with bfc it's a surprise we've sold more than a couple of dozen.

That's it though despite the club renewing managers every season we still renew our season tickets no matter how much the constant change irks us.

Football in general is become less entertaining by the season to me personally, but I still live in hope that the new broom can come in and at least makes us look a tidy team.

I can only speak for myself, but I enjoy watching Barnsley Football Club and have done for going on for fifty years. It's certainly far better than not watching us, as far as I'm concerned. Any success we achieve is a bonus for me, I don't demand it as a necessity before I part with any money. I have aspirations to see the team playing attractive, winning football and for it to take the club as high as possible & hope the club share those aspirations.
Others can do as they see fit. Who am I to judge?

Neither do I demand success, and was keen for us to soldier on with the last few managers and will with the present encumbent but the standard of entertainment on show has dropped season upon season in recent years IMHO barring an odd bright spell it has mainly been overcast.

Don't mind losing if we have created chances and been in with a shout of winning games. Missed the game on Sunday, but seen stats suggesting 16 shots with 11 on target and thats what I want to see and more. Action in and around the box and teeing off at every opportunity.

To go back to the original question asked at the beginning of the thread, I've simply passed on the information provided by Ben Mansford on Sunday. I thought it was relevant to the initial query and simply said I was pleasantly surprised at the number he'd quoted, after so many had insisted during the season they weren't going to renew (giving a variety of reasons).

People say a lot of things out of frustration and very few will actually act on what was said borne out of that frustration or in the heat of the moment, good job that's all it is or crowds would dwindling year upon year.

Our crowd held firm this season and I believe it will next season too.

I'm exactly the same, old mate. I've lost count of the times I've got home from a match (from being a child to being a man in my 50's), thrown a hissy fit and told anyone within earshot, "Never again".:D
I'm definitely a fully paid up member of the 'Drama Queens R Us' brigade.:D

It may just be modern day football that aint appealing to me or the constant cyclical manager merry go round but last season and this season moreso I have had to think long and hard whether to renew or not, whereas in the past its been just bob darn wi readies as though am paying a gas bill or summat.

Yep its my Barnsley, but I aint sure its my football.

Renewed anyway cos am always frightened of missing summat, eedyot that I am.

Yours a something needs to change (and not the bloody manager) fan.
