Have we ever had a bigger squad of players than what we've got now?

That's 11 players signed by Keith Hill that weren't in last night's 17 man squad. And we've got Bobby Hassell kicking his heels somewhere. Plus young players like Digby, Clark and Rose who are also part of the first team squad. We could field three teams.

If we signed fewer players could we afford better quality? One player on 5 grand a week is the same as two players on 2.5 grand isn't it? Rather than taking the shopping trolley to Aldi and filling it up to the brim, couldn't we take a hand basket around Marks and Spencers?

I completely agree Jay but the problem is that we get so many injuries Hill thinks he needs a squad bigger than the population of Yorkshire to ensure we can put a team out.

I just can't understand how we can sustain a wage bill for all these players. The one saving grace should we be relegated (which is pretty likely), is that very few are contracted to us beyond next summer.

We were 'threadbare' only a few weeks ago 18-19 fit players to select from. As it stands now we have four loanees, four academy grads on pro contracts, a couple of 'developers', possibly 4 or 5 due to exit for various reasons. Squad size is about what it should be.

If anything we should be looking to overhaul the defence in January. Which practically, will mean some players leaving the club as there simply won't be enough pegs.

Of the 11, only Perkins and Silva are worth persisting with in my view, possibly Kennedy as cover at left back.

Eight wages could surely equal one decent centre half ?!
