I remember it snowed the night before the cup semi final but it was nowt like this. This is the sort of weather you'd expect in January. Can't belive it.

Seen it like this in April a couple of times. In the 1980-81 promotion season we were playing Blackpool away on 25th April. It was just like this then. M62 was shut. We got over some how and in Blackpool it was t-shirt weather. We played in blue, Ronnie Glavin was up front and we lost 1-0, but we gained promotion on the Tuesday night by beating Rotherham 1-0 at Oakwell.

Actually, reading that through again, maybe I imagined it all.

Not a flake in Manchester, never is. Unbelievable.

But when it comes to rain...

And I have no doubt we'll have yet another cold, wet summer. I hate the weather in this country.

    Strange

April 25 1989 we had 4 inches of snow locally. 5 miles away there was nothing. Remember it cos it's my daughters' birthday and it played havoc with the veg patch!!

No, I went on the special. We were about the only game on that day. Mad snow everywhere, but balmy spring day in Blackpool. Party atmosphere on that shiteheap of an away end they had, but we never looked like getting the win to secure promotion. Tasty walk back to the station after with the local knuckleheads calling us out. Found a fiver in the snow in the bus station when we got back. Lot of money in them days for little mesters like me.

No, it is now called " Climate Change" , that way it does not have to get warmer, just change. So they can tax us if t is warmer and tax us if it is colder, Win- Win for the tax man ,. lol

It's fairly common to have weather like this even into April.

Remember Winter does not officially end until March 19, it does not then magically become 20 degrees C and sunny.

I never made it to Blackpool ...... got as far as Huddersfield and ended up staying at my Aunties and babysitting instead. Was gutted at the result but was there for the Rotherham match and didn't we round it off in style against Newport at home ? Happy Days

I know for a fact it snowed on 16th April '99 cos my lad was born. When the wife was in labour, everyone who walked into the room commented about the snow and she eventually shouted obscenities, something along the lines of "**** the snow I'm in fecking labour here". Then she dug her nails into my arm and cut me.
