I'm pleased BFC have done something at least, and I'm more encouraged to attend Saturday with new blood on show. However, our strkers' GPG ratios this season seem to be: Sam 5/22/22% Marley 4/18/22% Wilkinson 1/12/8% Smith 0/10/0% Overall, Sam's record for us is 13/42/31%. His last season at Scunny (League Two) was 23/45/51%. Ivan Toney for Northampton (League Two) is 11/53/20%. Toney is only 19, and hopefully capable of improvement, but he's gonna need to be if, a league higher, he's going to offer anything better than our current misfirers. The current picture (pessimistic?/realistic?) is that we still have a League Two strike force. The hope is clearly that Hammill will provide more service, but given his recent history, are we placing too much expectation on him? I think we need more than these - which will clearly be difficult with only further loanees or out of contracts available to us.
It's the lack of shots. How many did Winnall have at Scunny? Folk going on about Hammill only scored eight since leaving us. He was allowed to do what he wanted at BFC, possibly had to temper that elsewhere. Shoot on sight the lot of them.
simon davey had hammill playing down the centre if i remeber rightly, or hammill took it upon himself to play there! if hes anywhere near right hes far better than anything else we've got, play 442 or whatever they want to call it this week and tell watkins on one wing and hammill on the other to get some crosses in!
