Why? They didn't score for us. They scored to gain themselves an extra point. Saving us would have been furthest think from their minds. If anything they cost us millions by beating us in the play off final. Lets blame them for the money problems since then that we have had
Because ... like it or not, Mr Lee's goal saved us from a week of anguish, facing a game where a stronger side will be going all out for a playoff place. If Hull win or draw next week then we could have been in a very diffrent position, especially as Derby are playoff bound anyway.
They did us one very huge favour.

RE: Why? What planet are you on? We should thank Ipswich because they gave us the wake up call we needed when they hammered us 5 - 1 and they scored a very vital goal yesterday afternoon. Without that we'd be going to West Brom to try and get something. What ever happended at Wembley is in the past now.
Perish the thought I was dreading it being down to the last game. I don't think my heart could take the pressure.
RE: Why? My point is in the opening post it's written as if Ipswich scored for us and not themselves. Yes they did us a favour but not through choice but through wanting to get something out of the match for themselves.
MATE, over the season we got enough points to stop up, WE got them.Thats how a league works Luton Southend Leeds did not get the required points.Simple as that ....league is judged over ENTIRE season not on the last few games .
RE: Why? No it isn't.
It says 'Have we thanked Ipswich for yesterday? I think we should'.
At no point in that sentence is it suggested that Ipswich scored 'for us and not themselves'. You idiot. Even you have said that they have done us a favour, so why not say thank you?
The genuine point is that had Ipswich not scored next week would have been intolerable AND we would be looking at a revved up Leeds united going into a game against a Derby team who have now got nothing to play for and us having to win away against WBA who are playing to stay in the play offs. On the basis of that I would think we would stand a substantial chance of getting relegated. Ipswich Town F.C. stopped that from happening by playing a full 90 minutes as if they had something to play for, when they could have easily folded up and called it a day when they went 1-0 down. AND they defended that stupid corner properly after the pitch invasion stoppage.
Get them thanked.

Yes yes, I'm aware of all that Dragon and .. I have said so.
But whatever we did, and we did a hell of a lot in the last 3 matches, the fact remains that had Ipswich just tossed it off yesterday, we would now be facing an away game against a playoff seeking West Brom, while Leeds would be playing a Derby County, already safe in the playoffs. Thepossible outcomeis unthinkable.
Irather thought that it would be nice to pop into some of the Ipswich message boards, say thanks, renew the camaraderie and wish good luck for sext season. But if we all wanna be a set of insular little chuffbags, fair enough

Thank Them For Scoring For Them? No thank you. I will thank our team and management for keeping us up over 46 matches and not make it sound like Ipswich kept us up with one goal. They simply made our situation easier.
Fully agreed mate Was thinking the same myself. I wouldn't have blamed Ipswich for tossing it off as they had nowt to play for, but all credit to them for what they did. Cardiff on the other hand - very disappointed with them, very disappointed indeed.
No no. Don't try and join in with this common sense thread. Jonny come lately. Making me look like a **** twice.
(givinfinger)

You dont need me.... to HELP you look a **** - you're doing a very good job of that all on your own. I refuse to take any credit whatsoever for that. You're special, sunshine. Dont let anyone tell you otherwise (raiseaglass)
