Have you ever been really scared!?Frightened,

And then,on occasions,when you should have been
you surprised yourself, when you werent
Like the first time i remeber being frightened
i would be about 7 years old,where chaple st,joins Rockley lane,a motor cycle and side car pulls up
right alons side me,this chap,with goggles on stops ,and says some thing to me,,i bolted home like a shot,then at about the same age, i was given a peddle car
my two brothers took me half way up Pilley hill, they were 8 and 6 years older then me
they let me go, i was on my own,i was enjoying it ,till irealised i was on my own, CRASH it turned over and over, i was covered in bruises
My two brothers got a rollocking from me dad who Smashed the car to pieces
then lets go to when i started work down Pilley pit
i started work with my dad he was an engine driver,
i was learning the ropes, i was sat on his engine door way,when i saw two cats eyes coming to wards me
my hair stood on end
and it came right up to me rubbed itself against me ans purred, as a cat does,then went to my dad
he said hello to it like an old friend gave it a bit of sandwich
and the cat went on its way,right to the coal face

days after i was finding dead rats every where
then time passes om i go to the coal face i am a pony driver
one day i see 15 fulll tubs runaway down a steep incline, (stand at the top of your stairs you will see the like
a lad called ASrthur Hinchcliffe had gone down in front to open the air doors
i should have been scared,but no, i went looking for him
i found him he was ok
the tubs were piled on top of each other at the doors,i had to crawl underneath to get help, only Little BOB could do it
i should have been scared,but i was not
then i moves to Barrow i am 18 now i am learning to be a filler
i get my first 4 Yard stin
the Coal in falling as soft as snow , before i know it i had cleare 6 foot of Coal face away,no timber
i reach out arms length to to touch a joining when crash the roof falls in,to the right traped in the corner,another collier, i dive to see if he is OK,he is
but he is Calling me names
pick any yu like you will be right
but i was not scared,i should have been

i voulountiers this even ing to be shot gun guard taken a load to the HOOK(check t in google)
we go behind a truck who knows the area ,we follow no lights, my mate ditchees on the hook, the other truck could not stop we are left,shells wix=zzing ober
we get pulled out of the ditch, i then walk in fron of the truck showing him the way trying not to make a noise, a Flare goes up its like day light i find a spot to dump the timber
we turn round its getting cleare now we dash away
i should have been scared,but was not
now let me take you to the 70.s
we have been to hull we are comimg back to Immingham
all nice and serene my son Driving
im in the passenger seat wife and family in the back great day
we are passed by a ford CAPRI, nowt wrong
the Caprri clips the the edge spins round he is coming head on towards us
he takes action tips Over upside down
i make no more to do im out of the car puling him free
i shoud have been scred
cant understan to this day why i wasnt
the last one was in the 1960,s
when i was night watchman at Hansons Newmiller dam
and was held up by Maked Bandits
tell you what i Never had time to be scared

im in Low gear being care full when suddenly the bus turns into a sledge
no grip on the wheels i could do nothing
when suddenly it hit a dry patch
what a relief
then the Sat morning one April im Take a full oad on the Huddersfield run Leav Kirkburton
full load hit the Penistone road every thing nice and cosy no rush
coming to wards me a new car a austin11,00 when it skids turns over on its roof upside down
nowt i can do
how i missed or it missed me i dont know
i was not scared did not have time
aint life strange
