Yes and did you also notice the empty seats just after half time All the corporate lot still in the bar
And Motson.......... complaining about it. They have paid their cash and can do what the hell they want, it's nothing to do with him.
But they are not adding to the atmosphere if they are in the bars. Surely they are there to support the team. You only have to be in your seat for two 45 minute sessions.
85,000 Plus There The percentage of empty seats due to people not getting back, should not make a difference to the amosphere.
RE: 85,000 Plus There agreed Motson doesn't have to pay for watching football he gets paid for his inane rambleings
RE: 85,000 Plus There That depends on the percentage. There did look to be an awful lot of empty seats.
RE: 85,000 Plus There they should have put the corporate seats on the other side of the stadium so they weren't on camera, it's only a few hundred out of their seats out of 85k but they are bang in the middle of the camera focus.
Surely everyone's missing the point Which is that football FANS should be at these games, not people who are more interested in drinking champagne and eating prawn sandwiches?
RE: Surely everyone's missing the point sorry journo but I think you are. Corporate customers = more ££££ than ordinary fans. Not saying it's right it's just the way of the world.
Football Fans........ could have still been at the match and sat in one of the 5,000 empty seats. The point is you pay for your ticket and so shouldn't be hassled to hurry back to your seat. I cannot see anyone on here being happy at being told what to do at Oakwell.
RE: Surely everyone's missing the point There were empty seats elsewhere though, noticed quite a few behind the goal to the right
correct it does bug me to see these seats empty, as a lot of people would like to occupy those seats and can't (without wanting to sound too contradictory to my other post!). Also - many of them will not have paid to attend the game if they are corporate tickets, so the argument that they paid their money so can take their choice is a little flawed (I may be wrong about the ticket types though?) Edit - I mean this more generally as a point of principle - I do realise there were some empty seats elsewhere
RE: correct The people who go back to their seat when finished at their own pace want to occupy them seats though. There shouldn't be any rule as to how long you can take to get back to your seat. It's thanks to the corporate people that get slagged off that tickets are the price they are. Less corporate seats and normal prices would go up.
I don't think it matters.. ...to the in-stadium atmosphere whether the empty seats are on camera or not! The only thing they should concentrating on there is that all the easy-on-the-eye girls are on camera (as usually is the case!)
RE: correct What about people who have come to enjoy the game and are forever getting up and down to let people through to their seats. These people have also paid to come and watch the game. At the theatre the doors get locked so if you are late you have to wait for a break or sometimes the next scene.
RE: correct So we should adopt the theatre policy at football? Cool we can watch Barnsley in silence, instead of listening to people mouthing off about a player
RE: correct It might be a good idea after all. No, not suggesting it should be adopted in football but they are both entertainment events and you should be there to watch the event. The stadium officials should do everything to get people back to their seats, but as has been mentioned before its all about money. No chance of the bars and such being closed after a time so that is the way it is to be at the new Wembley. But for me, if you don't want to watch a football match, dont go to a football match.
