Take it you updated then

Top update is Windows ID programme, would have been ok if you'd switched it off. your not the first by a long way nor will you be the last.

    Can you uninstall that update?

Gp into Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs. Check the box at top that says "Show Updates" and look for update number KB905474.

Uninstall it and see if that helps.

    Been searching the Net mate....

and apparently there is no way as yet to stop this happening......unless you want to stop ALL updates from Windows - something that I dont really want to do.

Looks like im stuck with it until I get a new PC in probably around a year.

£1 tops and easier than a watch battery.

    Just swap them over.
Finding your old battery is the hardes bit especially if the contents of the case are a bit cramped.

Each time I turn my PC on....

My MSN refuses to sign in for around the first hour of booting up. No virus found at all. All doesnt seem perfect, but im sure given time that things will be back to normality.

Use system restore to before you got the message. Then turn off updates.
