The first thing to say is Coventry are a jinx team for us - they always beat us and I expected them to beat us today and was unfortunatley right.

Second thing They definitely had a helping hand from the ref - They hadnt even attacked us until they got the soft free kick and several key decisions all went in their favour

I dont think really there was much between the teams - though Coventry produced some chances which is something we didnt until the last 10 minutes. But we did produce chances at the Sty last week

Disappointed with Boggy - wonder if he is better coming on as a sub when the defence is tiring - but service was somewhat lacking.

Not going to get carried away by one result though - especially when we were missing Colace and our 2 new foreign signings - and Hume though showing promise is clearly not match fit yet.

I think we will win on Tuesday and steady things a bit. Too early to panic on one bad result this early in the season

Optimistic point of view and i hope you're right. One thing with Davey is that we can play utterly abysmal football one game then 3 days later play a blinder.

On the negative side is a team with a slow, aging defence, a midfield without bite or goals and the usual missing in action forward line. Only Foster can hold his head up tday and say he truely earned his money.

the other thing about coventry, love em or hate em, they were a very 'professional' team. in that i mean how they went about things; challenges, going down and staying down, nicking yards at free kicks and throw ins, reading the game, and in the way they conducted themselves, this must come from the manager, who hasd passed on his experience. they have done this fot the past 3 seasons now. we dont seem to be able to wise up to them, if anyone understands what i am getting at...

You are spot on with that

It was interesting to note that Hume was able to get some free kicks where the other strikers had failed by making sure he fell over in view of the officials when fouled - rather than trying to play on.

Its unfortunate he had to do that but it was working for the Coventry strikers so he followed suit.

Coventry are a jinx team but i think there were other factors that contributed to the abysmal display on Saturday:
1: Too many players (all of them) had bad games.
2: The officials were fecking woeful but we should be used to that now (the first goal was never a free kick)
    3: No creativity at all
I dont blame Davey for Saturday but things have to improve 100% starting tomorrow or Davey is going to feel the noose tightening around his neck again.

Oh and can JCR stay on the fecking wing.

    Having had a 6 mile journey and 2 minutes to reflect...............it wer ***** !!!

It was an unprofessional performance by the Barnsley team

No passing, no energy, no thought...........nothing

On top of this we were playing with only 9 men because Kozluk and JCR where there in body but not in mind
