Having just watched Saturday's match again, I've changed my mind about Hammill

I was suggesting earlier that he might need a rest because he wasn't doing what he was doing a couple of months ago. I was wrong!

He still runs into too many blind alleys for me, but when he doesn't he's brilliant. You always know that sometime soon he is going to produce the unexpected so, on balance, patch him up and keep him going. If we are four or five up after an hour on Saturday then take him off then, but not before.

He wasn't the only one but he ran his blood to water against the Blades and, but for a couple of wrong decisions, he would have set up a goal or two or scored himself at least once. As ever, he was kicked all over the place by the snidey, spiteful Blades and yet when he made a slightly rash challenge himself he got booked. He should cut those out, but you can understand his frustration.

Finally, and this is repeating what I said on the day in a post, the ONLY team playing football on that pitch were Barnsley. We weren't lumping it down field and hoping for the best. Most forward passes were measured and on the ground. Many didn't come off but they might have. We were a bit short on genuine goal attempts but, overall, it was a good, battling performance by our defenders and an exhibition for those unfortunates at the Lane who are not used to seeing proper football played on their pitch.

Finally, part two, that disallowed goal. I've played it over and over again and there is no foul by Winnall unless it was the most delicate of touches on their player's shoulder who then made a meal of it. I can only think, especially from the refs gestures at the end of it, that he gave offside. Odd though, because the linesman did NOT flag for it.

Finally, part three! Hourihane's "Evil Penguin" trip on Basham. It was pure comedy gold. He immediately apologised to the player and you could just imagine what he was saying: "Sorry mate, but I had to do it. Youse wouldav dun der same!" Nothing malicious about it, just a little trip to stop them going forward. It happens to us nearly every game, but most of those ARE malicious.
