I still think we were bloody rubbish. I've seen lots of positives in every other game I've been to this season, even when we've concede plenty of goals, but few if any yesterday.

We scored a good goal, but we didn't even have the chance to celebrate as we conceded so quickly. Our defensive play for both their goals was just awful. For all our possession in the second half we created just one chance, but Cole missed from 8 yards, as he does every week.

Maybe Cole needs a rest as he's doing very little at the moment. He can't hold up the ball whether it's played to his head, chest or feet and he's not beating his man any more when receiving good passes that leave him one on one with a defender. He continues to miss very presentable chances, at least one every game.

After we withdrew Bailey, S****horpe exploited the space left by his absence and had chances of their own. We actually saw Turnbull make a couple of saves. Until those two shots by S****horpe, just about every effort on target from the opposition for the last few months has gone in, or Turnbull has palmed them to an opposition player to finish. We released/sold a hell of a lot of players this summer. I think we've replaced with better in just about every position, but we miss Luke Steele.

It's difficult to judge Wilson's game plane as we lost Winnall so early and we really missed him. Hemmings was brought on as a replacement. He must be doing it in training as Wilson keeps giving him the chance, but he's just not performing in matches. He is making the runs, but not at the right time as our players aren't in a position to find him when he's making them, so he's just wasting energy.

I think our best player on the day was Treacy in the half hour he had. He found a cross in to the box every time he had the ball. It's easy to say in retrospect, but Treacy should have replaced Winnall, not Hemmings.

I guess the only positive is that it's taken until Novemeber before I've had to witness a performance of the kind I was regularly subjected to in the last few seasons (I didn't go to Port Vale), but that really is clutching at straws.

Much better required on Tuesday and preferably an end to the three striker experiment as, despite the victory over Colchester and the chances created at Chesterfield, I don't think it's worked. We're more than capable of playing much better, we've shown it time and again, let's do it.

Danny needs to do his homework..

Chesterfield.. Goal threat,...Doyle. A nice brace gifted to him.
S****horpe.. Goal threat...Madden. A nice brace for him too.

Bit of a trend developing here.

Next up Doncaster, goal threat..Main.. To be continued.........

At least we are scoring consolation goals for fun. :)

I think he should have been rested two games ago and agree we need to rest him now.

I thought the game plan was obvious as we reiterated it when we brought a forward on for Winnall despite us being clearly outnumbered in midfield fir part of the half. In fact i thought he would change things when given the Winnall sub opportunity. I have watched managers for years recognise the strength and weaknesses of the opposition in the opening minutes. I remember Ian Holloway against us, changing formation 10 mins into a game and going on to dominate and beat us. We don't have a Plan B and right now Plan A looks shabby.

I said at the time we needed to bring Tracey on and go 442. It was obvious we were hopelessly outnumbered in midfield. Winnalls injury gave Wilson the opportunity to change the team shape and he didn't take i . Couldn't believe it when Hemmings came on.

My young un had to keep telling me to calm down with all the ranting i was doing. Then mvoto came on and his rabbit stuck in the headlights routine everytime turnbull gave him the ball cheered me up no end. Went back into town with a somewhat ridiculous grin on my face. Good times.

I needed to go to the pub. And I didn't simply want to rant and rave which I would have done last night.

Jay I love your reviews and summarys because 99% of time I could have written them.

But I gotta say there's no 'easy to say in retrospect' about it whatsoever. I've said it all week, I was all over Twitter prior to game calling for a striker dropped in favour of Treacy, even as Winnall went down I said "he's got to put Treacy on he can't put Hemmings on"

People are right with what they say, Treacy did everything required of a winger in the time he was on.

Wilson for me has lost the plot, he must have, why else would you insist on doing same thing game after game.

I don't wanna go on Tuesday I really don't, I'm so angry I really am, I'm normally so positive and up for every game, defending players and manager anytime they are criticised

    Fed up

P.s he'll be sacked in January if we play as bad again and get turned over by any more tin pot clubs

Our time with Wilson at the helm has put me off going to Oakwell. I went to 5 home games last season, 3 whilst Flicker was still manager. That was bad enough, but I went to Wilson's first home game anyway which we duly lost 1-0 to Bolton. I then went to the Coventry cup game which we lost in pathetic fashion. Didn't go to another home game after that as it was just too depressing listening to us go down every week without a fight, and stuck to away games.

Decided to pay £23 to see us yesterday, and again was left feeling short-changed with a disgraceful performance against the team in 23rd in the 3rd tier.

My mate and I had talked about going to the Donny game Tuesday if we put in a decent performance. No way on god's earth I will be conned out of £23 to do that after going yesterday. I'll stick to away games where win, lose or draw I can have a good day out with friends, as opposed to trudging out of Oakwell after yet another spineless defeat. Our home form under Wilson is nothing short of disgraceful, and as the man isn't doing anything about it, I'll be sticking to games on the road.

Edit: agree with the OP for the most part. I was at Port Vale away and yesterday was just as bad.
