I think he has got it spot on and I relise what a disorganised mess Davey got us into. The defence is ropey to say the least, but Hassel, Moore, Foster, Kozluk is all we actually have, which is scary. As Robins said, Watford's two midfielders (who are average) run the game for them yesterday, despite us having an extra man for the first twenty minutes they had loads of space and time. Like he said "thats not how its supposed to work". We do need a ball-winner in the middle, we are far too soft, not simply reckless tackles, but anticipating the second balls etc. We do the basics incredibly poorly, the amount of times we took a throw in to our own player, lost the ball and they were on the break - we would all be annoyed if this occured during our Supporters Team games. We have no idea how to actually make things happen. There is no urgency, well there wasnt until Hammil and Hume came on and we looked actually threatening. You relise how an average team like Watford have so many set plays, yet we have one - get as many people into the box as possible and hope the chaos falls our way, its League Two stuff is that really. I fear for Colace. He wanted five in midfield and overlooked him in favour of Thompson and changing the formation. Unless he hasnt seen him play and/or was carrying an injury. The light at the end of the tunnel for me is that in just over two days in the post he has noticed all these things which Davey didnt. Hopefully he can address them.
colace can do that though sit there and break stuff up, thats what he did. he's better than all our current midfield atm
I suppose he only had a day and a half to look at the squad. Had he had more time, im sure he would not have started Thompson. I think hes looking for someone physically stronger, more aggressive and better in the air. They won most centre midfield headers yesterday. I would be suprised if Eustace broke sweat, I really would.
