Hayes' contract...

    If we're just wanting a fee for him, we must have offered him AT LEAST what he's currently on... he may think that's bad bearing in mind we're in a higher division and there's inflation - but it can't be much worse than his last contract!

    I'm not sure how that can be "derisory" are you?

    I appreciate we are in a higher division, but that doesn't entitle him to an increase on what I would imagine was a pretty decent contract to start with.

    Incidentally, does the duration of the contract have to be the same as the previous one?

    a good source tells me Howards basic contract has only increased by £50 per week.......dont know about bonuses etc, but i wouldnt mind that pay rise at all.........
