Hayes is a class player but no way is he warranting a start at the moment. Nads or Wright should have had the chance to stary. No one is taking the game by the scruff of the neck and 'doing summat' to change the course of the game. It sounds awful and Ritchie needs to change things around but we all know he won't.
Of course he'll change it! 5 minutes before the end when thy've just scored and are winning 1-0! (You heard it here first).
RE: Of course he'll change it! I'm a Hayes fan but to be fair, the fact he plays every week regardless isn't fair on the other strikers like Wright or Nads. He was garbage at Donny and as you say tonight he has been awful, missed chances and now faded from the game. I'd like to see Wright come on to bully the Port Vale defence cos sure as hell , that's not part of Hayes' game.
