so you all want hayes to go? i really think this would be a step back, as he can play up front where his pace can cause problems if applied properly, and on the wing opposite Devaney, so that we would have two good fast attacking minded midfielders, which will cause the opposition problems, i personally hope he stays!!
Pace? I've never been able to make my mind up about him. He has got obvious skill and can play the killer ball but I just don't see him as a centre forward and I've never thought of pace as one of his assets?
Well said that man Wanting to get shut of Hayes shows a remarkable lack of appreciation of football.
If anyone disagrees with you expect to see words such as 'lazy', 'can't be bothered' etc etc. The fact is he was paired with Nads up front in Davey's early tenure, whereas since Nads has been encouraged and used wisely, hayes has been sidelined and basically encouraged out of BFC. When he played as a front man at Scunny originally he played off Torpey - a target man that revelled in the physical side of the game. Hayes hasn't enjoyed that at Barnsley, yet has been a constant threat when played up front, whether he's a genuine out and out front man can be debated, but when played deep or as a wideman then his creativity shows. However it seems we are going down the route of direct football relying on pace and strength. Not enough in The Championship.

personally, i used to be a sprinter for yorkshire and i know that with his technique and stature that he has the pace but he doesnt apply himself.
see i dont agree you stated that he shows creativity and this is what we need, many matches have been lost due to the lack of this, and i feel that been fast and have strenght is a great asset to play football. when i was playing at barnsley i went as a centre half but beacuse of my pace they played me up front to latch onto things that went loose.
RE: Pace? well that your honest opinion of him ,an i have mine, so this is good as we are sharing our thoughs,
RE: Well said that man One of the best footballers at the club, just not appreciated by the majority.
apart from him being slow and a complete coward when it comes to tackling/ challenging for the ball.........
