all three have contributed naff all to Barnsley FC, for God's sake Mr Shepherd move these two so called strikers out asap, because Andy Ritchie won't. Today, we have had 80% of the play, and yet the shy twins have conspired to earn Bradford a point.
totally agree-id gladly pay hayes taxi fare to get him out as for richards (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown) (clown)
Now then old chap Richards 5 goals in 3 games for 9 points at end of Jan / start of Feb. At the time I think you refered to "the same game where the Richards haters have seen him score two corkers". Don't waver now, mate. Anyway, didn't I read that Vaughan has already left?
RE: Now then old chap I did indeed, and those two strikes should have kicked his season on, with confidence high, but for some reason it sent him backwards, honestly, these two are shocking to watch, Hayes inparticular is probably the worst striker we have had for the last ten years, maybe more.
Fair do's As I said earlier today ( http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=29598&mid=183186#M183186 ) we've not got it sorted up front but the foundations are there in defence and midfield and we can look at the strikers in the close season, when we've got an idea of what we're buying for.
RE: Fair do's Whether promotion is gained or not these two must be shipped out, another season in this division, with Hayes and Richards up front, would I fear, consign us to yet another year of pub football.
RE: Fair do's From what I've heard (not seen, note) I was agreeing, just saying that who we can buy depends on our budget which in turn depends on our league status. I can't see us attracting many top strikers or young hopefuls on loan deals if it's another year in division three. Either way, something's got to change up front.
RE: Fair do's I am of the opinion that perhaps strikers coming to the end of their careers would be the better option, people that have done it, seen it and won it, Hayes and Richards have no track record, and we were ultimately conned when we bought them, the way they go about a day's work, is a sacking offence in it's self.
Can't agree with you there, unless . . . . . . we stay where we are. If we do go up then we need a couple of strikers who could see us through a period of consolidation then a push for promotion, and possibly even an attempt to stay there. So you need players with at least 5-6 years left. And they're not cheap. The alternative is to take it step by step and sign players as you describe but with a view to getting shot of them (or consigning them to the bench / reserves) if we go up. It all depends on the finances. God, I'm nervous about next week already.
RE: Can't agree with you there, unless . . . Whatever the outcome of this season, we agree, I'm sure, that the attack must be sorted, impotence is a terrible thing, so I'm told, ahem.
Without a doubt As I think I made clear in the post I referenced. As for impotence, so I hear. But you know how it is - when you've been married for a few years it could take a long time to find out . . .
